1947 IRS TAX EXEMPT RULING MUZZLED PASTORS THEN AND IT CONTINUES TODAY

PASTOR CHRIS CLARK OF PULPIT  FREEDOM SUNDAY

Clark says, he “has had enough” of  this unconstitutional  intrusion into the life of the church and religious freedom. We now know that that the muzzling of pastors that began 5 decades ago continues today proven in this last presidential election.

Headline: Chris Clark: The IRS has silenced churches from speaking on anything perceived to be political… Of all 501 C non profit organizations 501 C3 is the only one that restricts speech! Unconstitutional!

You would be surprised how many  pastors have retreated from speaking and avoiding anything that smacks of politics.Another thing about the Johnson Amendment, there are a number of 501 C organizations that are all non profit  but I think there are 6 or 7 but only one has a speech restriction … That is the 501 C3! And in our mind it is a clear violation of the first amendment…

On Fox News today ACLJ attorney, Jordan Sekulow spoke too definitively when he said it is clear that the 501c3 Tax Exemption “clearly can’t be political”. He is wrong! The Pulpit Freedom Sunday movement would say not so fast!
In the Headline above: Chris Clark: The IRS has silenced churches from speaking on anything perceived to be political… Of all 501 C non profit organizations 501 C3 is the only one that restricts speech! Unconstitutional!
There is a movement of pastors nationwide that “has had enough” and the numbers are growing.
The ACLJ should not slam the door shut on this issue.
I’m hopeful they will clarify the comments made twice in that interview.
I appreciate the ACLJ and all the good work they have done.
